A head-on collision between a a logging truck and a transport truck forced a closure of Highway 97 north of Prince George for several hours on Wednesday morning.

No injuries were reported from the crash, which occurred at about 6 a.m. near the Wright Creek bridge.

The stretch was initially closed in both directions and with no detour as crews worked to get the trucks, trailers and debris off the road. It was reopened to single-lane alternating traffic by midmorning.

"Police would like to thank the public for their patience as emergency services, tow truck drivers and highway personnel work to make the road safe for traffic," RCMP said.
