The pickup truck used to smash through the doors of Pine Centre Mall was stolen from a business in the BCR Industrial Site, Prince George RCMP said Wednesday.
Video from a surveillance camera show the Ford F-350, a white four-door with a flat deck, went missing on Monday just before 2:40 a.m. It also shows an accomplice dropping off the thief and then following the truck once it was stolen.
On Tuesday, sometime before 4 a.m., it was driven through the mall's south entrance and into a jewellery store. Surprised by an on-duty security guard, the suspect fired a gun shot and fled on foot.
No arrests have yet been made. The suspect is described as a male who was wearing a black hoodie, dark blue jeans, white and grey shoes and a white mask.
Other than a couple of stores, Pine Centre Mall was fully reopened Wednesday.
