A load of logs ended up in Ruby Lake north of Prince George on Monday after a trucker rolled his rig at a bend along Chief Lake Road.

"The tractor trailer unit narrowly avoided going into Ruby Lake, but the load was not so lucky," Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said. "Almost all of the logs ended up in the lake."

The accident occurred at about 11:15 a.m. and drew police, emergency personnel, a tow truck and WorkSafe B.C. officials. Minister of Environment personnel were also called to the scene but it did not appear the truck leaked any fluid.

Speed was believed to have been a factor and the 28-year-old driver, who suffered minor injuries, was issued a ticker for driving without due care and attention under the Motor Vehicle Act.
