The woman at the centre of a single-vehicle rollover on Chief Lake Road last month has been prohibited from driving for two years for driving while impaired.

Tamara Emma Davis, 23, was also sentenced to one day in jail on the impaired charge and for breach of probation.

Davis had credit for 20 days time served prior to sentencing in Prince George provincial court on Wednesday. A charge of failure or refusal to provide a breath sample was stayed.

On May 8, a nearby resident and a passerby rescued Davis from the pickup truck she was driving after it smashed into a tree and flipped, landing in a ditch.

When the engine compartment caught fire, Davis was pulled out.

A resident of Halfway River near Fort St. John, Davis told police there were five people in the vehicle but no one else was located even though a police dog was called in to search the area.

She was taken to hospital for treatment and then held in custody.
