Police want to speak with anyone may have been in contact with a man who allegedly held a woman against her will in a transport truck he was driving from Williams Lake to Kitimat.
Robert Fagg, 24, of Williams Lake, remains in custody, RCMP said, after he was charged with assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats as a result of the April 8 incident in which he was apprehended by Smithers RCMP.
Fagg was known to meet women on the popular social website Plenty of Fish, North District RCMP Cst. Lesley Smith said Wednesday.
"Police would like to speak with anyone who has contacted Fagg on the website or had a past encounter or relationship with him," Smith said in a press release.
He was arrested without incident after a friend called 911 upon receiving a text message from the 26-year-old victim. The apprehension occurred within 90 minutes of the friend's call when 911 operators and RCMP tracked the suspect's and the victim's cellphones and identified the truck he was driving.
Fagg was also charged with assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats against another female stemming from several alleged incidents in December.
And he was charged with breach of an undertaking and recognizance in connection with the most recent incident.
Witnesses and others with information related to the investigation is asked to call the Smithers RCMP at 250-847-3233 or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
