The case of a Quesnel teacher facing sex offense allegations will go to trial.

A date of Feb. 24 has been set for the start of the trial for Ronald Norman Ball on charges of sexual exploitation, sexual interference and sexual assault.

Ball, who has been suspended from his job at Correlieu secondary school, was arrested on June 11.

Quesnel RCMP spokeswoman Const. Krista Vrolyk said at the time the allegations stem from "an incident involving a student which occurred in his classroom in March of this year."

The student at the centre of the allegations was under the age of 16. No further details about the victim were provided.

Ball was released on a recognizance and is bound by a court ordered condition to refrain from teaching anyone under the age of 18 until further notice.
