The Railway and Forestry Museum will host a special Geocaching 101 workshop Sept. 19 at 1 p.m.Geocaching is a treasure hunting game where you use a GPS that can provide fun for the whole family
Andrew Toms, an experienced local geocacher, will introduce participants to basics of geocaching, how to read cache pages, look at different cache containers and find geocaches with a GPS device.
He'll talk about geocaching etiquette and help hone skills during a hunt for real caches at the museum. Bring handheld or phone-based GPS devices, and dress for the weather of the day.
Those without devices will be teamed up with those who have them.
