Treasure Cove has backed away from a ban on boondocking.
Signs prohibiting overnight camping at the casino and hotel's parking lot are no longer up.
The move appears to have been made a few days after a story in The Citizen in which local RV park owners commended Treasure Cove for taking the step of posting the notices.
The reversal left RV park owners disappointed.
"I can't see why they would go to the trouble of having the signs made and put up and then taking them down," said an owner, who asked his name not be used.
Treasure Cove did not return a request for comment.
So-called boondocking, or letting RV owners stay overnight in parking lots for free, has been a point of contention for park owners who say Treasure Cove and Walmart are taking business away from them by allowing the practice.
The matter flared up n 2006 when owners appealed to city council. In response council limited stays on properties zoned highway commercial to 36 hours which the owners say is still too long.
"Eight hours is more than adequate," the owner said.
