A hitchhiking man from Europe has gone missing in Canada, and police have narrowed his last known whereabouts to this area.

Gary Thomas Orgil, 52, from England, has been travelling around Canada, and on Friday, police in Ottawa were contacted by his family with concerns about his health. He has a condition (undisclosed) that gave them fears when he dropped out of contact. An investigation soon pointed this way.

"Orgil has been travelling through Canada, primarily by hitchhiking," said RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass. "He checked out of a motel in Jasper on Oct. 5 and was checked by RCMP hitchhiking in McBride on Oct. 6. At that time, he advised the officer that he was heading to Prince George."

Orgil is described as a Caucasian male with light brown hair and a thick goatee and moustache. He often wears red hiking pants and almost always has two walking poles.

Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
