In an effort to improve safety, the College of New Caledonia has made changes to the speed limit, signage and traffic patterns on its Prince George campus.

The speed limit in CNC parking lots and the access road on CNC's campus - colloquially know at "college road" - is now 15 km/h, reduced from 30 km/h.

CNC has also installed improved speed signage, added a new four-way stop, and changed the the flow of traffic in CNC's dental and daycare parking to one-way traffic only.

"CNC is committed to the safety of its students, employees, and faculty, as well as the general public who use this road regularly," said CNC director of safety and security Sylvie Stekelenburg. "We've worked hard to identify solutions that will mitigate potential traffic hazards."

The changes came into effect on Friday.
