Members of Prince George RCMP's municipal traffic enforcement section issued 68 violation tickets when they conducted a one day speeding and distracted driver enforcement campaign on Thursday.
Broken down further, they issued 48 speeding violations, 12 distracted driving violations for cell phones, four no insurance violations and one violation each for excessive speeding, following too closely, no front licence plate and no driver's licence
One notice and order was also issued for a defective vehicle.
"Please slow down and put your phones away while driving" Cpl. Corey Eggen said. "Doing so may prevent a collision and even save a life."
