Participants in the 32nd annual Prince George Toy Run brought in more than $2,400 and filled eight pallet-sized boxes with toys for the Salvation Army Sunday. At least 350 motorbikes of all kinds took part in the hour-long ride through the city.
"It is humbling to see such a huge turn out and the generosity of our community," said a Salvation Army spokesperson. Last year's event collected six containers full of toys. "It makes our job easier when we have the support of our community like we saw Sunday at the Toy Run."
More than $500 of the funds raised and a large amount of the toys were donated at a recent memorial for a late, long-time Toy Run participant, Mervin "Buzzard" Reeves.
