Toys and gift cards will be gratefully collected by The Salvation Army and then be distributed this December as part of The Salvation Army's Christmas Cheer Packages for low income families.

"This year the need is particularly great in Prince George," said Salvation Army executive director Bruce Kirk. "Every month there are more and more families turning to The Salvation Army for help, many for the first time in their lives.

"We will also be setting up our Kettles and collecting cash donations too as our fundraising efforts this year were critically short by more than $30,000."

Zeller's is offering a10-per-cent discount on new toys being purchased on Sunday before the rally.

Last year's event brought more than 625 motorcycles from all over the province. and more than 1,200 people attended to drop off unwrapped toys and to see the bikes.

"The Salvation Army bids a special thanks to the Harley Owners Group for sponsoring and organizing the toy run which provides for the majority of the toys and gifts distributed at Christmas," Kirk said.
