A Prince George man who became fascinated with Terry Fox during his Marathon of Hope run across Canada has become the top fund earner across the nation.

Since 1991, Jim Terrion has collected a grand total is $503,000, averaging about $20,000 per year, for cancer research.

Thirty years ago the 49-year-old became fascinated with Terry Fox during his trek. He kept track of every move Fox made from St. John's, Nfld. to Thunder Bay where Terry had to give up his dream when cancer spread to his lungs.

Following in Fox's footsteps Terrion, a deaf person who lived in Prince Rupert at the time, eventually got to do his own walk across Canada when he was asked to promote awareness and raise funds for the deaf. Read the rest of the story in The Citizen.
