About $40,000 worth of stolen tools were recovered and two people known to the police were arrested after the Prince George RCMP crime reduction team executed a search warrant on a Kenworth Road East home on Friday.
Jason Robert Fletcher, 28, faces three counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and one count of theft over $5,00 and Andrea Erika Johnson, 39, faces one charge of possession of stolen property over $5,000.
Prince George RCMP said the two were arrested six days after police received a report that a trailer holding more than $50,000 worth of tools was stolen from an enclosed area near the corner of Massey and Ospika Boulevards.
On Thursday, the owner recovered the trailer in an area off Haldi Lake Road. It had been altered and prepped for painting at the time and the tools were not located, Prince George RCMP said.
Fletcher has a criminal record that includes convictions for assault, trafficking, possession of stolen property and fraud. He also continues to face a charge of driving while prohibited under the Motor Vehicle Act from an alleged Sept. 14 incident.
Johnson. meanwhile, continues to face several charges from an alleged Aug. 2, 2013 break and enter of a home on Chief Lake Road and a subsequent attempt to flee from police, as doesDorian Shea McCrea, 43. That matter has been raised to B.C. Supreme Court.
Both Fletcher and Johnson remained in custody as of Monday.
