TNW holds over play

Teens can attend for $2

Theatre North West's comedy A Nice Family Gathering has been held over from Tuesday, May 4 until Saturday, May 8.

During this time, TNW is promoting the attendance of teens because it's such a great show about families. "Bring a Teen for a Twoonie" encourages parents to take their teenagers to a play with a comical perspective on family relationships. Admission for teens will be only $2 between May 4 and 8. TNW is also trying to encourage younger theatre attendees.

"This is a wonderful play for a young person's introduction to theatre," said artistic director Ted Price, "It's all about trying to understand your parents."

In the play, the Lundeen family share commonalities, but each possess distinct personalities, similar to the make up of any family.

"When this family of young adults comes home for the weekend, they suddenly realize that they've spent years underrating and misjudging their parents," said Price. Playwright Phil Olson achieves a comic effect by slightly exaggerating characters and situations, and the audience can expect to have their funny bones tickled.

A Nice Family Gathering is on now at TNW, located in the Parkhill Centre. Tickets are available at Books & Company, or by phoning (250) 614-0039. The performance schedule is available online at www.theatrenorthwest.com.
