On Thursday the Prince George RCMP general duty section located and arrested a parolee wanted for being unlawfully at large.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued on Dec. 16, when Antoinetta Pozzebon, age 50, failed to return to her halfway house in Prince George. Pozzebon has more than 100 criminal convictions over 32 years, primarily property related. She was released on parole for convictions of break and enter, possession and use of a stolen credit card and two counts of theft under $5,000.

Despite a number of tips received from the public since the initial media release, Pozzebon had eluded capture.

On Thursday at 5:10 p.m., members of the Prince George RCMP's general duty section attended a residence on the 2100 block of upland street in Prince George, in hopes of locating Pozzebon. While speaking with a resident at the front door, who claimed she wasn't there, Pozzebon was apprehended by other officers as she exited the back of the residence.

The Prince George RCMP would like to thank those members of the public who provided information to the police on Pozzebon whereabouts.
