The Canadian Centre for Child Protection has received several more tips about where a missing young Prince George man could be found since going public with news that it received a phone call from someone identifying himself as Lucas Degerness.

"We've received a pretty good response from the public," CCCP missing children services director Christy Dzikowicz said this week. "We've had quite a number of calls in relaying information and that information is fairly consistent with what we think could be possible in terms of Luke being out there."

Degerness was 14 years old when he was last seen in this city in June 2007.

After a meeting at his school with his mother and the vice principal, Degerness, who would now be 21 years old, spent the night at a friend's home and was never seen again.

His mother, Gina, was encouraged by the response.

"Tips are coming in once again, a couple of them I think are really valid, and I'm waiting to, at just the very least, hear his voice," she said.

At the time of his disappearance, he was described as 5'8" tall with a medium build, brown eyes and brown hair and was thought to be carrying a large camouflage backpack.

Anyone with information regarding Lucas Degerness is urged to contact MissingKids.ca at 1-866-KID-TIPS (543-8477) or the police. Tips can also be submitted online at missingkids.ca. All information can be shared confidentially.
