Here comes the bride-- and the HST.
If the B.C. government retains its harmonized tax vow, wedding related expenses like photography, catering, and DJ services will be subject to another seven per tax.
Erin Jacobs, event co-ordintator for the Hart Community Centre said they've received a lot of recent cancellations, which is most likely due to the tight economy.
The Hart Community Centre offers three different package deals that cost $30, $40, or $50 per person.
The $40 option costs $5,250 for 125 guests, including GST, and will cost $5,600 for the same amount of guests after July 1. The Hart Community Centre has a volunteer program where you can work to offset your event costs, which is a perk.
"We just have to keep going with (the HST) though, and hoping that people will still want to have a big, fancy wedding," said Jacobs.
