A thunderstorm could be rolling through Prince George, Environment Canada said in an alert issued shortly before 4 p.m.

Meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm moving eastward along Highway 16 approximately 30 km west of Prince George, the agency said.

This storm is capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail, heavy rain and lightning.
