There used to be a daily passenger train running from Prince George to points south. A lot of people relied on it, so when rail workers went on strike in 1965, people had to make other arrangements. Not everyone knew about the strike, though, and a Citizen photographer was there when people showed up and realized they were out of luck.
This week's Throwback Thursday also offers some Christmas fun involving local kids and a fun photo of the then-mayor getting his hair cut for charity.
Remember, you can take a tour through local history yourself in the pages of The Citizen via the Prince George Digitization Project, available online.
