Three arrested for alleged drug dealing

RCMP have arrested three Prince George men believed to be involved in drug transactions in a College Heights shopping area and seized a large amount of drugs and two firearms in the process.

RCMP have arrested three Prince George men believed to be involved in drug transactions in a College Heights shopping area and seized a large amount of drugs and two firearms in the process.

In making the arrests on Monday, police uncovered two ounces of cocaine, one ounce of methamphetamine a quantity of prescription drugs and ecstasy, a sawed off shotgun and approximately $7,000 in cash.

And a subsequent search of an O'Grady Road home turned up methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy, and marihuana, adding up to about $40,000 in street value. Also seized from the residence was a loaded Ruger SR22 semi-automatic rifle and extra magazine.

Two of the three suspects, Joel Pennell, 21, and Kaylan Olson, 23, both Prince George residents, were held in custody by a justice of the peace. The third suspect was released on a promise to appear for court at a later date.

Police are recommending two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking against Olson.

Pennell is facing four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as two counts of trafficking and numerous firearms charges.

The third man, 30, also a Prince George resident, is also facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The arrests were made by members of the Prince George and North District RCMP drug sections.
