A police service dog was deployed to track a path back to a home where a man was allegedly attacked after he was found unconscious late Tuesday night at the corner of 20th Avenue and Spruce Street bleeding from the neck.

The man was taken to hospital where he is recovering from life-threatening injuries while the dog and handler traced a route back to a 2100-block Upland Street home, according to a Prince George RCMP statement issued Wednesday.

Police found two people in the home, both appearing to be uninjured, while a third person showed up after Mounties arrived. All three were taken into custody while the detachment's forensic identification section was brought in to gather evidence.

Names of the suspects and the victims were not released. Charges had not yet been laid as of Wednesday morning.
