Take a journey back in time on this road-trip to Barkerville to experience their old-fashioned Victorian Christmas in all its enchanted glory.
As western North America’s largest heritage attraction, this town truly transports its guests back into the magic of B.C.’s Gold Rush era. The festive fun takes place on the main street from Saturday, Dec. 8 to Monday, Dec. 10, and guests may partake in a number of fun activities.
For example, they may have their photo taken with “Father Christmas” in an enchanted forest, and then take a majestic sleigh ride through beautiful snowy streets. Following this, guests like to enjoy delectable home baking in the Wendle House, or soak in one of the displays at the Halverson House Mining Museum, Nicol Hotel Museum, Lee Chong Co. Store Chinese Museum, Tregillus House, or the miniature display in the visitor’s reception centre.
Guests may even catch a dramatic reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol by Barkerville’s Mr. Bowron. Following this, you can join in a fascinating, history-filled tour in the snow-laden main street.
