Heads up, Prince George commuters, drivers, and pedestrians.

If you get to work or like to stroll through the downtown core, you’ll have to avoid the area by the Telus building and Days Inn for the foreseeable future.

Starting bright and early Tuesday (May 21) at 6 a.m., the Sixth Ave. stretch between Dominion and Quebec Streets will be closed permanently by the City of Prince George as construction is set to begin on a brand new hotel.

According to a release, this is a ‘necessary’ closure that will allow Mundi Hotel Enterprises Inc. and Horizon North Logistics Inc. to bring in trailers and heavy equipment.

The road closure and property sale was approved by City council last year.
