A Prince George mother is looking for her baby's little red sleigh, which was stolen from her home on Aitken Crescent in the early hours Tuesday.

"I'd really like to get this sleigh back since it was a gift from my son's grandmother in Newfoundland," said Victoria Douglas.

She said eight-month-old Blaine loved to be pulled in the sleigh, which is equipped with a plastic shelter, by two older sisters.

The baby sleigh and a blue 1997 Skidoo snowmobile were secured on a pull-trailer that hooks to a vehicle.

"Sometime after midnight somebody backed in to the yard and took the trailer. We could see the vehicle tracks the next day," said Douglas.

The Skidoo, which has a bent ski, was used for family activities during weekends, so it's also a big loss, Douglas said.

Police have returned the trailer found in the vicinity of Ospika and Tabor boulevards, but the 1997 Skidoo and the sleigh are still missing.

"I can't see what the people who stole the trailer would want a baby's sleigh for, so I'm hoping if they dumped it somewhere, someone will find it."

She asks anyone who knows the whereabouts of the sleigh or the snowmobile to call police at 250-561-3300. The police file number is 2011-3317.
