rundown of what they dealt with:

Hit and run

Police were called to the intersection of Austin Road and Highway 97 for a hit and run crash on Christmas Eve.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. a white Ford F-350 pickup truck rear-ended a vehicle at a stop sign. The driver of the truck then drove away toward Foothills Boulevard.

No one was injured in the crash. Police were not able to locate the suspect vehicle.

Lumber theft

On Friday morning police were called to a business in the 500 block of Tomlin Road.

Staff found the gate of the business compound broken open. Sitting outside the gate was a stolen truck and trailer full of lumber taken from the business.

Investigators found the door lock and ignition of the truck had been damaged, and believe the thieves abandoned it after they were not able to restart it.

The truck had been stolen from the 900 block of Great Street sometime earlier that night.

Break and enter

On Friday shortly after 5 p.m. residents of a home in the 1700 block of Norwood Street found their home was broken into during the day.

Two video game consoles, a safe and some cash was stolen from the home. Police were not able to identify any suspects in the break and enter.

Attempted theft

On Boxing Day at 7:30 p.m. police received reports of two men breaking into a Frieghtliner truck parked in the 8900 block of Sintich Road.

Police arrived and arrested two men, aged 18 and 37 years old.

Skyler Dwayne Brennan, 18, was charged with theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.

The 37-year-old is also facing charges and will appear in court in February.

Pedestrians hit by car

On Christmas Day two teenagers were hit by a car while crossing the street near the intersection of Ospika Boulevard and Massey Drive.

A 14-year-old girl suffered a broken ankle and a 15-year-old boy suffered lacerations to the face and a broken nose as a result of the collision. The pair were not using a cross walk and were walking against the flow of traffic when they were hit by a Chevrolet Cavalier. The driver attempted to avoid hitting the teens after they stepped off the meridian, but was unable to avoid hitting them. Both teens were charged under the Motor Vehicle Act.
