Thieves boot off with footwear

Police in Prince George were forced to do some old fashioned gumshoe detective work after a 10-foot crime on Victoria Street. Five pairs of boots were boosted from a business in the 1000 block of the city's main strip.

Police in Prince George were forced to do some old fashioned gumshoe detective work after a 10-foot crime on Victoria Street.

Five pairs of boots were boosted from a business in the 1000 block of the city's main strip. Thieves walked off with their booty sometime in the late hours of Saturday or the early hours of Sunday. They were discovered missing from a smashed window display when staff came in for work on Sunday before opening hours.

"Five pairs of high-end industrial work boots valued in excess of $1,600 had been stolen from the window display," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass.

These items were:

- Brown Viberg brand Stomper model No. 648, CSA, toe and plate - $269

- Black Viberg brand Sierra model 45x, CSA, toe and plate - $432

- Black Viberg brand Stomper Hydro Linesman boots model No. 175 - $369

- Brown Royer brand Arizona model No. 408386 - $410

- Brown Royer brand model No. 10-8620, CSA non-metal - $199

The Prince George RCMP are asking for the public's help in locating these unique and specific work boots.
