Thefts rampant over weekend

Vehicles thefts and break and enters kept police and dispatchers busy during the first few days of April. On April 1 at 2:11 p.m., the RCMP received a report of an attempted stolen vehicle on the 600 block of Central Street.

On April 1 at 2:11 p.m., the RCMP received a report of an attempted stolen vehicle on the 600 block of Central Street. A red Ford pick-up had the driver's side door lock removed and the ignition damaged. The owner of the vehicle was in a retail store for less than 25 minutes. Alcohol, cigarettes and a small amount of cash were taken.

On April 1 at 3:28 p.m., the RCMP received a report of a theft from motor vehicle that occurred on the 7600 block of St. Patrick Avenue. A purse and an iPod were taken. The purse was found near Domano Boulevard and Malaspina Avenue.

On April 1 at 9:20 p.m., the RCMP received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on the 1500 block of Fir Street. A suspect is described as a male, wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans. A quantity of alcohol was taken.

On April 1 at 11:15 p.m., the RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 2800 block of Andres Road. A 2008 Chevrolet pickup was located by the RCMP near 15th and Central Street. A 16-year-old female and 20-year-old male were arrested for possession of stolen property and released for court on May 18.

On April 2 at 8:47 a.m., the RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 3800 block of 5th Avenue. A 1995 green Ford Windstar van bearing BC licence plates EJS458 was taken from a parking lot. The van has not been recovered.

On April 2 at 8:52 a.m., the RCMP received a report of two thefts from motor vehicles that occurred on the 1200 block of 3rd Avenue. A Honda Civic and a Honda CRV both had their windows smashed and personal items stolen.

On April 2 at 9:31 a.m., the RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 4200 block of 15th Avenue. A black Toyota Tacoma pickup was taken sometime overnight from the residence. The truck was located unoccupied on April 4 with damage to the front bumper.

On April 3 at 9:24 a.m., the RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 1600 block of Rebman Crescent. The owner of the stolen Ford pickup located the vehicle shortly after noticing it was missing. The vehicle was recovered approximately one block away and had damage to the door lock and ignition.

On April 3 at 1:55 p.m., the RCMP received a report of an attempted stolen vehicle from the 400 block of William Crescent. A 2000 Ford pickup had the door lock removed and damage to the ignition.

On April 3 at 2:50 p.m., the RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 3900 block of 1st Avenue. An Acer Desire laptop computer and a PSP handheld game console were taken.

On April 3 at 8:09 p.m., the RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 1700 block of 11th Avenue. Jewelry was taken.
