Alcohol and a good cause. What's not to love?

Theatre NorthWest and Big Brothers Big Sisters Northern B.C. (BIGSNBC) have announced they are teaming up to host a gin cocktail event in the new year called "Gin Blossom: A Speakeasy."

On Jan. 18, 2020, guest bartenders will each create a signature gin-based drink with the winner being announced in a people's choice type competition.

With the fundraising and sponsorship scene changing in Prince George, the groups say it is important to work together and innovate as opposed to working against each other.

The guest bartenders for the event are Tyson Witala, Haylee Seiter, Connor Hutchinson, Wayne Carrasco and Camille MacDonald.

BIGSNBC will take a $500 donation at the end of the night to a registered charity of the winning bartender's choice.

Second place will receive a $200 donation to a charity of their choice.

The theme for the night is the 1920s with guests being encouraged to dress up.

Tickets are on sale as of 1 p.m. today (Oct. 1).
