The annual Prince George Kennel Club dog show had 175 canines strut their stuff over the weekend.

The two-day event all lead up to the best in show and best puppy in show rounds held on Sunday afternoon.

This years best in show was awarded to the Giant Schnauzer and the Karelian Bear Dog and the best puppy in show prize went to the Norwegian Buhund.

"There were a lot of good dogs this year," said Anne Neff, the show's secretary. There were dogs from across Canada and as far south as New Mexico.

The show featured seven groups of dogs including: sporting, toy, herding, hounds, terriers, non-sporting and working dogs.

The winner of each group enter the best in show round.

"We compete with the Pacific Dog Show in Vancouver and a lot of people came from there. That has a lot to do with the judges we hire," said Neff.

The annual show takes place in July.

Neff hopes that next years event will again be hosted at the former North Nechako elementary school.
