The Salvation Army launches 24th annual Tree of Lights

Marking the traditional beginning of the Christmas season The Salvation Army in Prince George will be putting the Tree of Lights on the roof of the Coast Inn of the North today.

Marking the traditional beginning of the Christmas season The Salvation Army in Prince George will be putting the Tree of Lights on the roof of the Coast Inn of the North today.

"In the past three years alone the Tree of Lights has raised more than $100,000, all going to families in need right here in Prince George" said Corps officer Neil Wilkinson.

In partnership with Coast Inn of the North as well as Integris Credit Union and Spruce Credit Union, The Salvation Army is looking to raise $40,000 this year.

"Our official launch will be held at the Coast Inn of the North today starting at 5 p.m. with the tree lighting set to take place at 5:45 p.m. and everyone is welcome" added Wilkinson.
