A wildfire near Tete Jaune Cache has subsided considerably since this photo was taken last week.

Crews nearing the mop-up stage in their battle against the wildfire near Tete Jaune Cache.

B.C. Wildfire Service communications officer Amanda Reynolds said the blaze, which covers 574 hectares, is 80 per cent contained with 61 firefighters concentrating primarily on putting out hotspots.

"Most like crews are going to be demobilizing from the fire on Friday," Reynolds said midday Wednesday.

The fire broke out when a tree fell on a powerline about five kilometres east of the Robson Valley community during last week's windstorm.

There are no other wildfires of note in the Prince George Fire Centre and just one for the province as a whole. The weather forecast appears favourable in terms of keeping any trouble at bay.

"We're supposed to get some precip here tomorrow and Friday and then, talking to our forecasters, kind of classic June weather - a couple nice days and then there's rain, a couple nice days and then there's rain," Reynolds said.
