Tom Masich, right, and Dick Voneugen, leaders in the sports community of Prince George, started the Terry Fox Run at Foothills elementary Friday with a bugle horn. During an assembly prior to the run, each man told stories about how Terry Fox came to Prince George in 1979 to participate in the Prince George to Boston run. It was right after the race that Fox announced his intention to run across Canada to raise funds for cancer research. Fox ran the 8.5 mile circuit twice because he felt so good, said Masich. Fox ran 17 miles in 3 hours 9 minutes.
