Telus service restored in P.G.

Telus restored service to 4,500 Prince George customers early Thursday morning, almost a day after underground cables were accidently cut. Businesses and homeowners could use the service again around 1:30 a.m., the company said in a release.

Telus restored service to 4,500 Prince George customers early Thursday morning, almost a day after underground cables were accidently cut. 

Businesses and homeowners could use the service again around 1:30 a.m., the company said in a release.

"TELUS crews were on the scene as quickly as possible and worked around the clock to restore all services. The length of the outage was due to the extensive damage and challenging repair conditions requiring excavation."

The company said a third-party road construction crew accidentally cut a cable that serves Prince George, affecting residential and business clients as well as several wireless sitesworking "around the clock" to restore service for 4,500 Prince George customers after one of its underground cables was cut Wednesday morning.

At first it the company said service wouldn't return until Thursday morning but by afternoon Wednesday the time frame had sped up.
