On the ride of his life car collector Dwayne Etzerza of Telegraph Creek just won $1 million in the Lotto 6/49 draw that took place on Nov. 25, 2020.
“This is my biggest win yet,” Etzerza, who has been playing the lottery for many years, said. Etzerza purchased the winning ticket from Shoppers Drug Mart on Main Street in Smithers and got his lucky numbers through the Quick Pick.
“I woke up that day and was on Facebook when I noticed one of my friends had posted that someone won $1 million in Smithers,” he said.
Opening the BCLC Lotto app he checked his ticket immediately and still half asleep asked his partner if she could double check to confirm the life-changing win.
Right then he called his mom to share the good news.
Etzerza said he's going to start a new business and re-ignite his passion for car collecting as he just sold his old collection.
“It's an amazing feeling and overwhelming at the same time,” he said.
“It's great to be a winner.”
