Three teens who were too young to drive away with the vehicles apparently had no trouble breaking in to them over the Christmas holidays.
City RCMP arrested three males, ages 12, 13 and 15, after a number of complaints of thefts from vehicles were reported around Fifth Avenue and Kerry Street.
Police were dispatched to the area and arrested three youth attempting to flee from the authorities.
Once police had the alleged thieves in hand, several suspected stolen items were recovered.
Police allege the youth rifled unlocked vehicles taking items of value.
The teens have been released by a Justice of the Peace on condition they have no contact with each other and keep to a curfew.
The trio is to appear in provincial court Jan. 11.
The complaints regarding the Fifth Avenue and Kerry Street area were among 15 similar reports made in the previous 72 hours.
Police encourage motorists to lock vehicles when unattended.
The police ask anyone with information about these criminal offences to contact the Prince George RCMP at (250) 561-3300 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-TIPS (8477).
