An arrest has been made and a charge approved in connection with an armed robbery of a Prince George bank nearly 10 months ago, Prince George RCMP said Thursday.
The accused is an 18-year-old male who was arrested on other charges in Ontario and subsequently charged on relation to a June 5, 2015 robbery of the Spruceland Mall Scotiabank.
No one was hurt and the suspect fled before police arrived. But a "very comprehensive investigation that involved other jurisdictions" led to his arrest, RCMP said.
"Catching the suspect has remained a priority for the Prince George RCMP," Insp. Brad Anderson said.
"We appreciate the patience of the public when we are investigating crimes that on the surface may not seem to be complex, but in fact are.
"The charge approval against this male is another example of the determination of our investigators and their diligence in working with other agencies beyond our detachment borders."
The suspect's identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
