An imitation gun lead to a real arrest Wednesday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m. on March 21, the Prince George RCMP were called to the area of the Evergreen Trailer Park on North Nechako Road. Initial indication was that a male had pointed a hand gun at two persons driving by in a vehicle.

Within a few minutes, general duty officers located and arrested a 17-year-old male thought to be responsible based on a description given to investigators. The intoxicated male was searched and pistol-style pellet gun was located.

The youth was arrested and taken into custody without incident. The investigation in ongoing and firearms-related charges will likely be recommended.

The Prince George RCMP would like to remind the public that firearms charges can be laid in relation to persons using imitation guns inappropriately or in the commission of another offence.
