Teachers strike unlikely, says PGDTA

A repeat of October 2005, when teachers took to the picket lines for two weeks, is unlikely for this round of bargaining, says Prince George and District Teachers Association vice president Matt Pearce.

A repeat of October 2005, when teachers took to the picket lines for two weeks, is unlikely for this round of bargaining, says Prince George and District Teachers Association vice president Matt Pearce.

"I think it's a pretty low chance of picket lines being up in October [2011]," Pearce said. "We intend to be very patient with bargaining and I've told our members here that we wouldn't be surprised if there's not an agreement in place in 2012."
