The Yellowhead Rotary Club will hold its sixth annual Taste of India - A Celebration of Cuisine, Culture & Community event on Feb. 20 at the Civic Centre.

The ever-popular fundraising event, which has raised more than $250,000 so far, will support the Big Brothers Big Sisters Rotary club house in its second phase of development that includes a kitchen, a second bathroom, a space for an Early Learning Centre and a playground.

Past projects include:

• School District 57 Meals Program

• Prince George Kordyban Cancer Lodge

• Elizabeth Fry Society - Amber House and Family Resource Center Preschool

• Phase 1 of the Rotary Clubhouse at Big Brothers Big Sisters

• Amrelli, India education and sanitation project

• Rotary International Polio Eradication Project, Polio Plus.

Because the focus is on a commitment to children and youth, both here and across the world, the funds will not only go to the Big Brothers Big Sister club house but to the sanitation and water projects in Dhira and Tuni, India. The projects will provide safe drinking water through a reverse osmosis procedure and a village of 300 families will get 135 toilets.

Tickets are available at RK Furniture, 1050 Victoria St., for $100 each.
