Targeted home invasion

A home invasion on Norwood Street has the markings of local underworld violence, in the eyes of police. RCMP were called to the home in the 2100 block of Norwood at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

RCMP were called to the home in the 2100 block of Norwood at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

"Officers arrived right away but were unable to locate any suspects," said police spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass. "Indication at the scene is that four males wearing masks forcibly entered the residence and stole a quantity of cash and jewelry. In the process, a male and two females were assaulted."

One female was transported to the University Hospital of Northern BC, was checked by medical personnel and released.

"The suspects and the victims were known to each other," Douglass said. "This is not a random act. The investigation is continuing.
