Grab a bunch of napkins, Prince George!

Trust us, you’ll be drooling with hunger after you hear about this new food festival coming to the city.

This June, some of the nation’s best cooks will assemble in Prince George for its first annual Ribfest, including award-winning Ribbers and Barbecuers coupled with a recipe of live entertainment, other food vendors from the region, and local craft brews to chug down all that meat.

The event is being organized by Pacific Western Brewing (PWB) and the Nechako Rotary and will take place at PWB’s facility on North Nechako Road.

The brewery has decided as well that all proceeds from Ribfest will go towards the Rotary to help fund initiatives benefitting homeless and vulnerable residents of Prince George.

“Rotarians are extremely passionate about supporting their community,” said Nechako Rotary Club President Lia Redpath in a news release. “Prince George Ribfest is a great opportunity for us to bring something unique to the people of Prince George, but also to raise much-needed funds to support the many initiatives we take on.”

The best part, Prince George Ribfest is for everyone!

However, the event will be split on each day it runs, making the morning/afternoon slot for all ages and the evening hours for those over the legal drinking age of 19.

“It’s a natural fit for PWB to be involved,” said brewery spokesperson and Ribfest Manager Kyle Sampson in the same release. “We’ve been operating here in Prince George since 1957. This is our hometown and we strive to do our part in making this a vibrant community that we can all be proud of. The folks at Nechako Rotary are constantly and tirelessly doing their part to give back, and all of us at PWB are proud to partner with their organization to do just that.”

The Ribfest schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, June 21
    • 12 - 5 p.m. = All Ages
    • 5:30 - 11 p.m. = 19+ only
  • Saturday, June 22
