Crown counsel has approved two charges against a 22-year-old Prince George woman alleged to have been squatting in a 2100-block Oak Street home. Brittany Marie Gagnon faces one count each of being in a dwelling-house without lawful excuse and mischief.
Gagnon and a 40-year-old man who has not been charged were arrested on Friday as RCMP were called to a report of people occupying the basement suite without the owner's permission. A small quantity of cocaine and a significant amount of drug paraphernalia was also located, including hundreds of needles, RCMP said. A large amount of miscellaneous property, much of it suspected stolen, was also cleared from the home.
Gagnon was released from custody on an undertaking later the same day.
