Charges have been approved against two Prince George men in relation to an alleged carjacking last month.

Both Dean Orden Otis Mecham, born 1990, and Romeo Michael David Sygrove, born 1999, remain in custody on a dozen counts each from the alleged March 12 incident.

Charges include motor vehicle theft, armed robbery, pointing a firearm and forcible confinement.

The two were arrested sometime after RCMP were called to a report that two people were robbed of their vehicle by two unknown men with firearms.

Police located the abandoned vehicle a short time later in the North Kelly Road area.

Both Mecham and Sygrove have criminal records.
