Two Williams Lake residents suspected of looting have been charged.

Both Nicholas Frederick Ivany, 27, and Alana Ward, 24, face three counts each of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

The two were arrested July 11 when, according to RCMP, a television believed to have been taken during a break and enter from an evacuated home in the Wildwood area was found in their vehicle after it was pulled over.

Search warrants were subsequently executed Wednesday on a 10th Avenue North home and on an 11th Avenue home where police uncovered items believed to have been taken from three other evacuated homes.

Two other people, Larry Thomas Judd, 32, and Melissa Marie Knapp, 29, each face two counts of possession of a controlled substance, from the incident, as does Ivany. Ivany has also been charged with willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

All three have since been released from custody and are next scheduled to appear in court in Williams Lake provincial court in early August.

Also, charges of possession of a break-in instrument were stayed Tuesday against two men in Quesnel provincial court.

Steven Gerald Schuk, 48, and Brent Marke Zaumseil, 42, were arrested Friday after RCMP pulled over what was described as a suspicious vehicle near Garner Road.
