A man suspected of stealing a pickup truck is in custody after a brief chase Wednesday morning.
Within minutes of receiving a report of the pickup going missing, an RCMP member in an unmarked SUV saw it heading along 20th Avenue near Massey Drive.
An attempt to pull it over led to a collision between the two near 20th and Pine Street but RCMP said the truck's driver and lone occupant kept going until running it into a cement barrier near the junction with Ford Avenue.
From there, the suspect fled on foot and across Highway 97 but was apprehended with the help of a police service dog and handler.
The name of the suspect was not provided, but in an RCMP press release he was described as a 41-year-old man currently residing in Prince George with previous police history in Houston and Saskatchewan.
