RCMP remained on the lookout for one of two suspects in a series of vehicle break-ins in the Hart after a search by air and with the help of a police service dog netted one arrest on Tuesday, but failed to locate his alleged accomplice.
RCMP, who were called to the scene at about 11:15 a.m., said the two fled into a nearby wooded area when confronted by witnesses near the intersection of Highway 97 and Monterey Road.
The one suspect arrested was described as a 27-year-old Prince George man and a prolific offender. Charges had not yet been laid and his name was not released Tuesday.
The search for the second suspect was called off at 2:30 p.m. but police are asking anyone who may have information on the incidents and where he may be to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca, or text CRIMES using keyword "pgtips."
