Two Quesnel men are facing criminal charges after a serious assault.

The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday in the 300 block of Lewis Drive. Police allege that Robert David Dunlop, 20, and Chad Michael Tresierra, 21, were involved. Dunlop has been charged with assault causing bodily harm while Tresierra is still at large with a warrant issued for his arrest.

"A 37-year-old male had suffered significant injuries including a fractured skull after being assaulted at a residence," said Quesnel RCMP spokeswoman Const. Krista Vrolyk. "Following an investigation which included the execution of a search warrant at the residence, Quesnel RCMP determined that the victim knew his assailants and this was not a random act of violence, rather a targeted assault."

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Tresierra is asked to contact the Quesnel RCMP as soon as possible at 250-992-9211.
