An attempt to stop a stolen truck resulted in a collision between an RCMP SUV and the stole vehicle Sunday morning.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Bill Hudyma said the officer spotted the stolen white Ford F-250 4x4 at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Marleau Road and Bear Road, just off Highway 16.
"The [RCMP] member was trying to stop the truck. The truck slide through the intersection, went into the ditch and turned toward the police vehicle," Hudyma said. "The police car was also unable to stop."
The police vehicle struck the driver side of the pickup truck, he said. The female passenger in the truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries ad was taken to hospital, where she was treated and released, Hudyma added.
The RCMP officer and driver of the truck were not injured. Both vehicles suffered minor visible damage.
The driver was arrested at the scene for an outstanding warrant.
